K9 Cross Train! (NEW!!!) Mondays 6:00-7:00 (7 weeks $105)

This is a new format that I am pleased to offer current and new students...

  • Have you ever wanted to try a dog sport, but didn't necessarily want to commit to 7 or 8 weeks of it?
  • Do you or your dog tire of the same routine or get easily bored?
  • Do you just want to something fun and enriching with your dog, but can't decide which dog sport to concentrate on?

 Well now you don't have to, because this class is going to mix it up, keep you learning and having fun with your dog.  Each week we will focus on 1 dog sport/activity, then next week we will cross over to another activity!  That way you get a taste of everything, keeping it fresh and fun for you and your best friend!

Classes - at Hunter Mountain Farm (Mondays and Wednesdays)

Beginning Agility - NEW CLASS STARTING on an as need basis...contact me! (7 weeks for $105)

Dogs and handlers will be begin to learn about clicker training and freeshaping, as well be introduced to all of the obstacles in a fun, safe manner.  During this class, handlers will learn how to effectively communicate with their dogs how to correctly perform the obstacles so that dogs will gain confidence on them over the 7 weeks.  Foundation in start line stays and release words will be introduced 

Intermediate I (not currently being taught - check back soon)

During this class, handlers will begin learning how to perform simple handling techniques such as the front cross, rear cross, blind cross and cues to cue a  serpentine.  Handlers will gain understanding in the importance of using their bodies to tell the dog  the path they are to take.  5-10 obstacle sequences will be performed as dogs continue to gain understanding and confidence on the obstacles.   

Intermediate II  Mondays 3:30 - 4:30  $15/pay per class or buy a class card. (7 for 105)

Dog/handlers will continue learning about how to perform the obstacles with increasing confidence and height.  Handlers will utilize handling techniques to negotiate around sequences of 8-13 obstacles.  (This class will be offered on an as need basis)

Advanced Handling  (not currently being taught - check back soon)

 This class will have handlers analyzing longer sequences that are more challenging.  Dogs should be at full height and comfortable on all of the equipment. ( This class will be offered on an as need basis)

Intermediate Rally skills(not currently being taught - check back soon)

 Short Rally courses will be set up, walked through and performed by each team.  Group discussions about how to create the desired behavior will assist each team in perfecting those behaviors.

Canine Life and Social Skills (CLASS)  - NEW CLASS STARTING on an as need basis- contact me!                       (7 weeks for $105)

Dogs/Handlers will be using clicker training and positive reinforcement to teach their dogs to perform basic obedience.  Freedshaping, Heeling, sit, down, stay, wait, come, leave it, touch, zen, go to bed, loose leash walking, will be addressed. Rally behaviors will be looked as well.

Beginning Agility  7:30 -8:30pm

Next Session will Start soon  7 weeks $120 non-members - $102 members.

TGIF - Skills & Drills -   (ongoing class dependent on my trial schedule) 6:00pm-7:00pm - pay per class $12 non-member $10 member.

Dog/handlers will continue learning about how to perform the obstacles with increasing confidence and height.  Handlers will utilize handling techniques to negotiate around sequences of 7-14 obstacles.  A different  skill will be focused on each week.

Private instruction is offered at a variety of locations to fit your needs.  

Love on a Leash Dog Training - 40/hr  

  • Sundays 9-1
  • Tues 2:30 - 5:30
  • Fridays 2:30 -5:30

Camp Pendleton (my house)  40/hr (Outdoors on grass - weather and light depending) - Summer Schedule

  •  Mondays 4 -7
  • Tues - 1- 6
  • Thurs 1-3
  • Fridays - 1-4
  • Saturdays (occasionally)

Hunter Mountain Farm   (West Augusta, VA) - $40/hr

  • Mondays 1:00 - 5:00
  • Wednesdays -from 1:00 - 4:30pm

All other locations - $50/hr ( minimum 4 lessons/day required) - contact me to set up a block of time.

Obedience/In home training is available $50/hr + mileage (if not in my normal area)
